BURBANK, Calif., July 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced RF Technologies, Inc. (ADRF), the largest pure-play in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) provider for public safety and commercial radio frequencies, announces multi-carrier installation of their first generation ADX series DAS at Kauffman Stadium™, home of the Kansas City Royals. This upgrade boosts signal to improve connectivity for subscribers for each of the major carriers at the 38k seat venue.
"Kauffman Stadium prides itself on being a second home to fans of the Kansas City Royals, and we are always looking at ways to improve that experience," says Toby Cook, Royals Vice President of Publicity. "In the age of the connected consumer, it's important to us that the fan experience adapts to these newfound expectations and allows them to share their personal moments at the stadium through any channel they want".
ADRF built the solution for the original installation with Sprint in 2015 to allow fans to easily capture and share moments with friends and family at the venue, whether it's over Text Message/SMS, Facebook, or more capacity-intensive networks like Instagram or Snapchat. According to RootMetrics, Sprint achieved a 94.8 of 100 in data reliability as a result of the installation, compared to the carrier average of a 54.9 out of 100. All carriers are poised to achieve similar results with the new installation.
"Kauffman Stadium is renowned for its fan experience, and with the addition of our multi-carrier DAS makes becomes even more fan friendly," says Julie Song, President at ADRF. "This continued partnership with Kauffman Stadium and top U.S. carriers ensures a modern fan experience for Royals fans."
The first generation fiber DAS solution, ADX, is modular and can support single and multi-carrier systems with incredible flexibility. The stadium installation is a 7 frequency band system, the maximum number possible, and includes 172 remote units with a mix of medium and high power components all fed from the same base station. It is capable of transporting all frequencies including 700 MHz, SMR 800 MHz, Cell 850 MHz, PCS 1900 MHz, AWS 2100 MHz, WCS 2300 MHz, and BRS TDD-LTE 2600 MHz regardless of protocol or modulation.
The upgraded DAS System was installed by Wireless Services, which specializes in in-building amplifier installations and has successfully partnered with ADRF.
"The ADRF product suite and technical leadership have been key to the success of this dynamic project," said Luis Gonzalez, Chief Commercial Officer for Wireless Services. "As we do in all our stadium and large public venue integrations throughout the country, we worked closely with ADRF and the IT Leadership of the Royals and Kauffman Stadium as well as the In-Building teams at all four major carriers."
