Insights and Conversations Across Critical Communications at IWCE 2026

IWCE once again proved why it remains one of the most anticipated gatherings in the critical communications space. Roughly 4,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors traveled to Vegas last month to discuss the latest in public safety innovations. While we saw a lot of familiar faces from past years, most notably, there is a growing presence of Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). This signals the show is not only growing in size but also in influence, bringing together the people directly involved in shaping, approving, and implementing public safety solutions in buildings and venues.

Building Safety at Scale in Las Vegas

Just like every IWCE, we had a big presence at the show. Our Director of Business Development, John Shubin, presented a session titled “Safety in Sin City: Unified Cellular Infrastructure for Effective Emergency Communication,” highlighting how even small cellular coverage gaps can have significant implications and why reliable in-building connectivity is essential to support both occupants and first responders when it matters most. It covered important topics facing public safety in Las Vegas’ hospitality scene, including:

  • The communication challenges of Las Vegas's complex architectural structures and how they can impact emergency response effectiveness.

  • The benefits of integrating ERCES with commercial in-building wireless systems to create a seamless communication environment for emergencies, and how these unified cellular infrastructures reduce time, cost, and complexity by housing emergency and commercial systems within the same enclosures.

  • Practical strategies for implementing unified cellular infrastructures through real-world case studies, highlighting both advantages and challenges in deployment.

Since the majority of 911 calls come from citizens, not first responders, commercial wireless solutions are increasingly being viewed as an extension of public safety. Unified cellular communications reflect that reality by making it more cost-effective for building owners to invest in better connectivity for people and first responders. If you're interested in learning more about unified cellular communication, our CEO, Julie Song, wrote about it in a recent Forbes article.

A Strong Presence from the Safer Buildings Coalition

The Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC) also had a huge presence at IWCE this year, hosting multiple networking sessions and its annual member dinner.

Beyond networking, SBC also facilitated several important conversations throughout the show, including the panel “Beyond the Initial Installation: Funding Strategies for Sustaining School Safety Solutions.” In this session, Executive Director Alan Perdue emphasized the importance of treating school safety as a long-term investment rather than a one-time deployment.

As a member of SBC, ADRF values the continued collaboration among its members focused on advancing building safety and in-building wireless communications. The strong turnout at these sessions and panels reflects the shared commitment across the industry.

Introducing PSR NEO

Last but not least, we also selected IWCE to launch our next-generation public safety repeater: the PSR NEO Series!

PSR NEO delivers the industry's highest narrowband channel count to support increased network capacity and traffic demands. It also improves interference protection and simplifies installation while meeting the latest IFC, NFPA, and UL standards. For over 25 years, ADRF has stayed ahead of the evolving public safety technical and regulatory landscape, and the PSR NEO continues this trend. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to check it out. If you didn't get the chance, we’ll also be showcasing it at Connect X, May 4-6th in Fort Lauderdale!

IWCE 2026 truly showcased just how collaborative and passionate the public safety industry is, from the AHJs and mobile carriers down to the system integrators and OEMs like ADRF. This was yet another valuable opportunity for us to connect with partners, exchange insights, and introduce solutions designed to meet the evolving demands of critical communications environments.

We can't wait to see what the industry and show bring next year!
